IT Manager

Purpose of the Role

The IT Manager owns corporate IT infrastructure and IT operations for TV Nova, including corporate IT services, shared infrastructure platforms, network services, monitoring, virtualization, IT Service Desk and end-user support.

This role acts as the technology bridge between the Technical Division, Broadcast, Oneplay and all business departments. The IT Manager ensures reliable day-to-day operations, drives modernization, supports IT/OT convergence, and plays an active role in AI adoption and automation.

The role works closely with TV Nova’s CISO and the CME Group CISO on cybersecurity execution across the IT estate. Broadcast applications, production systems, media technology platforms and dedicated broadcast infrastructure remain owned by the Broadcast department. Where IT and Broadcast intersect, the IT Manager and Broadcast Manager operate as peers under a clearly defined shared operating model.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop three teams: Network Operations, IT Operations and IT Service Desk.
  • Build strong cooperation across teams, remove silos, define structure, hiring needs, on-call arrangements, objectives and KPIs.
  • Manage team performance, succession planning, knowledge sharing, engineering culture, engagement and individual development.

Infrastructure, Operations & IT/Broadcast Cooperation

  • Own corporate IT infrastructure and shared IT services end-to-end, including networks, servers, virtualization, directory services, monitoring platforms and ITSM tooling.
  • Ensure availability, stability and resilience of IT services, including production-critical dependencies where IT services support Broadcast or Oneplay.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, PKI/certificates, Windows and Linux server lifecycle, patching, hardening, IDM/IAM concepts and related enterprise applications.
  • Define and enforce SLAs, monitoring, capacity planning and incident/problem/change management in an ITIL-aligned environment.
  • Own backup, disaster recovery and business continuity for IT-owned services, including regular DR testing.
  • Establish and maintain a clear operating model with Broadcast and Oneplay, covering ownership boundaries, escalation paths, governance, decision rights and IT/OT connection standards.
  • Support Broadcast’s transition to IP-based infrastructure within IT-owned shared services such as network, security, standardization and monitoring.
  • Identify standardization, efficiency and synergy opportunities across IT, Broadcast and Oneplay environments.

IT Service Desk & End-User Services

  • Own the IT Service Desk as the single point of contact for end-user IT requests and incidents.
  • Define and improve service desk SLAs, including first response, resolution time, first-contact resolution and CSAT.
  • Own the ITSM tool, service catalogue, self-service portal and knowledge base.
  • Drive shift-left of recurring issues from L2/L3 to L1 and self-service.
  • Own end-user computing, including endpoint lifecycle, imaging/MDM, software distribution, onboarding and offboarding workflows.
  • Improve end-user satisfaction over time, not only SLA compliance.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary IT counterpart for business departments and the main IT partner for Broadcast under the shared operating model.
  • Translate business needs into IT roadmaps, budgets and delivery commitments; manage demand intake, prioritization and roadmap reviews.
  • Communicate constraints, trade-offs, risks and delivery status transparently, maintaining regular contact with senior management.

Strategy, Modernization & AI Adoption

  • Define and execute a multi-year infrastructure strategy covering IT/OT convergence, unified monitoring, standardized network and directory services, and edge/cloud positioning.
  • Drive automation-first operations, including infrastructure as code, self-service and AIOps.
  • Co-lead AI adoption for TV Nova together with the local AI Team, identifying practical use cases across departments.
  • Support local AI governance, including usage policy, data protection guardrails, tool selection and measurable adoption targets; align with CME Group direction where applicable.

Security, Compliance & Risk

  • Work closely with TV Nova’s CISO and the CME Group CISO to execute cybersecurity strategy for the IT-owned estate.
  • Support secure IT/OT zoning, NAC-based OT admission, vendor access governance and passive/non-intrusive OT monitoring, in cooperation with security specialists or external vendors.
  • Implement security requirements for OT devices as conditions for network and domain access.
  • Support compliance with NIS2, GDPR and group security standards; represent IT in audits and participate in vulnerability management, incident response and tabletop exercises.

Budget, Vendors & Group Cooperation

  • Provide strong input into infrastructure and operations OPEX/CAPEX planning and forecasting, while budget ownership remains with the Technical Director.
  • Ensure cost-effective execution within the approved budget envelope and manage key vendors, telco and connectivity contracts.
  • Coordinate with Broadcast on shared vendor, connectivity, monitoring, security or infrastructure topics.
  • Execute CME Group IT strategy locally where relevant, cooperate regularly with the CME Group IT Director, and participate in or lead selected Group-wide IT initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in IT infrastructure and operations, 3+ years managing multiple teams or team leaders.
  • Career path showing solid technical grounding: ideally progressed from a hands-on technical role into people management, rather than a purely managerial trajectory.
  • Experience running an IT Service Desk or end-user services function: ITSM tooling, SLA/CSAT management, and support process design.
  • Technical understanding / knowledge of enterprise networking (routing, switching, firewalls), Windows Server and Active Directory at multi-domain scale, Linux administration, IDM/IAM concepts.
  • Working knowledge of IT/OT demarcation concepts (zoning, domain trust, NAC-based admission); hands-on design experience is a plus but not required — a dedicated specialist will support this area.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management at director level; able to negotiate priorities constructively.
  • Experience with 24/7 mission-critical environments (media, telco, banking, utilities, or industry).
  • Native Czech or Slovak fluency required; strong spoken and written business English required.
  • ITIL 4 certification preferred — already holding it is a plus; support available to obtain it within the first 6 months if not yet held.
